Terms of Use

Casual FC is operated by First Sport FZ LLC, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. By using the app you agree to what follows. If you do not, please do not use it.

Who can use it

You must be 16 or over, and the account is yours alone. Some games have age limits — Vets and SuperVets — and your date of birth decides which you may join.

Your account

There is no password. Signing in means giving your email address and entering the code we email you, so keep access to that mailbox secure: whoever can read it can sign in as you. Tell us at once if you think somebody else has.

Booking a game

• A place is yours when the app says it is, and it is paid for from your wallet.
• Places are limited and taken in order. Two players tapping at the same moment means one place and one apology.
• You can release a place up to the cut-off time shown on the game. Release in time and the money goes back to your wallet.
• After the cut-off the place is charged whether or not you turn up. Somebody has paid for the pitch, and a late drop-out is the reason a game ends up short.
• Not turning up without releasing your place affects your turn-up rate, which other players can see, and repeated no-shows may cost you your account.

Your wallet

• Credit is in UAE dirhams and can be used only for Casual FC games.
• Credit does not expire while your account is open and in good standing.
• Credit is not money on deposit, earns no interest, and cannot be transferred to another player.
• If we cancel a game, the money for that game returns to your wallet.
• If we close your account for a serious breach of these terms, any remaining credit may be forfeited.
• Deleting your own account will not release credit as cash. See Privacy, "Deleting your account".

Games we cancel

We may cancel a game — too few players, weather, a pitch withdrawn at short notice. If we do, every place is returned to the wallets that paid for them, and we tell you in the app. That is the whole of what we owe you for a cancelled game; we are not responsible for other costs, such as travel.

How to behave

Pickup football works because people are decent to each other. Violence, abuse, discrimination, harassment and cheating are not tolerated, in a game or in a game chat. Follow the rules of the venue you are playing at. We can remove a player from a game, or close an account, for any of this.

Playing football is a physical activity

You take part at your own risk, and you confirm you are fit enough to play. Football carries a risk of injury. To the fullest extent the law allows, First Sport FZ LLC is not liable for injury, illness, loss or damage to property suffered while playing, travelling to or from a game, or at a venue — except where caused by our negligence, and nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Venues have their own rules and their own insurance; you are responsible for your own medical cover.

Champions and volunteers

A champion helps run a game — the squad list, bibs, marking who turned up. They act for the players present, not as an employee of First Sport FZ LLC, and helping out does not make them responsible for what happens on the pitch.

The app itself

We do our best to keep it working, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of faults. We may change or withdraw features. If we make a significant change to these terms we will tell you in the app.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of Dubai have jurisdiction.
